As a Manpower associate, you not only join a leading team committed to excellence and innovation; you also become a member of a company that rewards superior performance, recognizes individual contributions and encourages professional development. We've gotten to know you, and we know you'll fit in just fine. But before you begin any assignment for Manpower - and while you're working - we want to keep you equipped with the information, onboarding and ongoing guidance you'll need to be your best. Here's some important information to get your new assignment started off on the right foot - and to keep you moving forward.

Preparing for your assignment.

Your Manpower Representative will meet with you to cover all details about your assignment. Before then, please take some time for the following:

  • Review Manpower's benefits and recognition program
  • Review Manpower’s policies
  • Review Manpower’s procedures
  • Complete and sign all Manpower and government forms provided to you
  • Complete any assigned safety training (only select positions will require safety training)

Your assignment onboarding.

When you accept an assignment with Manpower, we'll provide you with:

  • The company's name and location
  • Directions to the worksite
  • Start date, time and projected length of assignment
  • Pay rate
  • Work hours, lunch and break times
  • Check-in procedures, if required
  • Supervisor's name
  • Description of what you'll do on the job
  • Dress code, including any required safety equipment
  • An assignment order number to use for payroll purposes
  • An identification number

When to call your Manpower Representative.

Remember, even while you're on assignment with a client, Manpower is your employer. Please call your Manpower representative if:

  • You're going to be late or unable to report for work
  • The work you're asked to do is substantially different from the work described to you by your Manpower representative
  • The work environment appears unsafe
  • You're sick or injured on the job, or feel you can't complete a job
  • You're unavailable for a period of time
  • You've changed your address, telephone number, e-mail address or banking relationship that would impact direct deposit
  • You've learned new skills that may qualify you for more assignments or higher pay
  • Your assignment ends. Be sure to call us within 48 hours to let us know of your availability for your next assignment
  • You feel Manpower's Anti-Harassment/Anti-Discrimination Policy is being violated

Tips for success.

Follow these guidelines to be more productive and make your assignments with Manpower more enjoyable and rewarding.

  • Be on time to work
  • If you’re unsure of what you’re being asked to do, ask questions
  • Be polite, cooperative and willing to help whenever you're asked
  • Maintain confidentiality. You should never discuss your work with anyone other than your supervisor
  • Notify your Manpower representative of any requested changes in your job duties or if you're asked to operate equipment or perform a task for which you haven't been trained
  • Refrain from making or receiving personal telephone calls at work, outside of break time or lunchtime
  • Notify your supervisor immediately when you finish your work and see if you can help with any other tasks. Otherwise, please use your free time constructively
  • Wear appropriate attire for your assignment
  • If your job is not running smoothly, please contact your Manpower representative, instead of just leaving the job. As your employer, we can help you with any job-related problem
  • Submit your hours worked, on time, to prevent delays in your pay
