    The Role:
    * Manage 3 Direct Reports: Manufacturing Supervisor, Fabrication Supervisor, Fabrication Planner; Indirect Reports: 2 Weld Techs, Metallurgist
    * Establish quality objectives and ensure they are met through monitoring, training, continuous improvement initiatives and standardization of work procedures
    * Maintain optimum level of efficiency, implementing countermeasures to recover loss
    * Plan, implement and control the production schedule (facets include material, mechanical and human resources)
    * Responsible for the accuracy of data being entered into, and drawn from, the manufacturing systems
    * Prepare production reports
    * Ensure efficient collaboration with procurement, distribution and management
    * Lead projects to align with organization objectives
    * Represent the department in meetings, as requested
    * Manage goals and objectives to ensure alignment with the overall Senior Manager, Operations

    You Bring:
    * Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited university
    * Minimum 5 years experience working in manufacturing, preferably in a unionized environment
    * Minimum 3 years experience in a leadership role
    * Lean Manufacturing Principals experience required
    * Basic knowledge of machining, welding and fabrication, costing and foundry required
    * Project Management experience preferred
    * Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system

    The Role:
    Responsible for planning and establishing production schedules
    Responsible for the allocation of work to provide for the efficient utilization of equipment, material and manpower.
    Monitors material inventory, tracks production progress, and estimates production completion dates in order to modify and adapt schedules as necessary to changing deadlines.
    Responsible for creating and maintaining production loading, schedules and monitoring results
    The focus is on ensuring parts arrive at their required location at the appropriate time.
    Foster good communication between production departments as it relates to on time delivery to internal and external customers.
    In More Detail:
    1. Generate and issue weekly production schedules as required.
    2. Develop and maintain all planning documentation for the departmental functions
    3. Liaising and coordinating across key stakeholders in connection with planning the internal delivery deadlines.
    4. Prioritize activities aligned with planning schedules
    5. Monitor and report on the progress of work to the schedule, and make adjustments as required with minimal direction
    6. Monitor scrapped parts and remakes as required.
    7. Create, adjust and maintain planning updates, and management templates to measure, monitor and report on progress
    8. Execute recovery planning in order to provide amended schedules.
    9. Maintain visualization of the backlog.
    10. Estimating lead times for new projects based on loading/backlog and specific customer requirements.
    11. Input production orders
    12. Perform weekly inventory for the Fabrication Department

    You Bring:
    1. Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in related field from an accredited college or university.
    2. Go-Gen or other lean manufacturing training considered an asset
    3. Demonstrate strong experience with MS Office Excel (VBA experience considered an asset), Work and PowerPoint.
    4. Minimum 1-3 years' experience working in a planning department within a manufacturing environment
    5. Demonstrated training, experience or utilization of lean methodology for process improvement.
    6. Ability to independently identify issues, react to unexpected events and meet deadlines required for each day's schedule.
    7. Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints and mechanical drawings.
    8. Understanding of MRP/ERP software
    9. Understanding of basic principles of GTAW, GMAW, SMAW welding techniques as well as some metallurgy and foundry principles as related to steel and alloys.
