    The work involves product transitions, new product introduction activities, pricing analysis, quality, order placement/management, and insuring service levels are maintained.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    * Initiate purchase orders as buyer in ERP system. Ensure all materials are available for forecasted and/or confirmed customer order fulfillment according to facility needs.
    * Transact daily activities to support raw material requirements regulating inventory levels, and achieving targeted inventory turns
    * Set and manage planning parameters (safety stock, lead times, forecasts, order quantities)
    * Responsible for timely planning of raw materials including forecast communications to suppliers (MRP, Min/max, VMI, KanBan, Special Order)
    * Effective supplier/customer communications to ensure proper inventory levels, on time shipments and deliveries of products
    * Work closely with Sourcing Team to develop and execute material sourcing strategies
    * Manage transition and timing of product offering changes (engineering changes, new product launches, product line obsolescence, vendor changes)
    * Communicate with production facilities regularly to insure material availability.
    * Provide timely accurate analysis of raw material inventories, demands and requirements.
    * Issue purchase orders timely and accurately and provide follow up and communication as directed.

    Education/Experience: Two-year Associates degree or Bachelor's degree (B.A., B.S.) from college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience. APICS OR ISM Certification

    Mathematical Ability: Ability to utilize basic statistics and mathematical formulas common in the Supply Chain and Logistics functions. Ability to create and adapt basic concepts and apply them to large data sets. Basic understanding of cost-benefit analysis and cash flow optimization with respect to inventory investment.

    Computer Skills: This job is almost exclusively computer and phone based.
    Microsoft Office Suite including Excel and Word
    Intermediate Excel functionality required - PIVOT Tables, Vlookup, basic statistical formulas, etc
    Internet commerce tools (email, web-based fulfillment, EDI)
    Ability to extract and import data for analysis in Excel

    What you'll be doing

    Tracking and determining orders for production and shipping/supplies
    Reviewing internal requisitions and obtaining quotes as necessary
    Conferring with vendors to obtain product or service information such as: price, availability, and delivery schedule
    Preparing purchase orders
    Maintaining procurement records such as items/services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories
    Managing perishable inventory purchased by weekly review of item usage, forecasts, production schedules and inventory adjustments
    Issuing release orders to vendors in a timely manner
    Matching receiving documents with invoices and verifying invoices for accuracy
    Initiating test request forms for ingredients
    Collecting documents from new vendors for set up while securing payment terms with new vendors
    Working with Procurement Manager on any additional projects or tasks as needed


    The skills we are looking for:

    Bachelor's Degree in Science or business - related field
    2+ years of experience in purchasing or assistant role in a professional environment
    Expert in Microsoft Applications, including Excel (VLOOKUP)
    Familiarity with various disciplines of Purchasing/Buyer concepts, practices, and procedures
    Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

    EXIGENCES ET APTITUDES

    * Expérience 2 ans en chaine d'approvisionnement;
    * DEC en Chaîne d'approvisionnement ou élément relié ou expérience équivalente pertinente;
    * Connaissance des concepts des achats et de l'inventaire, des pratiques et des procédures dans le cadre d'achats MRO;
    * Connaissance de l'industrie MRO, y compris des fournisseurs, des clients et des concurrents;
    * Excellente aptitude à la communication orale et écrite;
    * Excellentes aptitudes à la négociation;
