    Hours/Shifts:

    * Training will be on days (~2-3 weeks, 6:30-3:00)
    * Once trained, work will be 12 hour shifts - 1 month on days, 1 month on nights, repeating
    * Hours: 6:30 -6:30, 3 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on, 2 days off. (36 hours one week, 48 hours next)

    Summary of what you'd be doing:

    * Use a variety of standard laboratory equipment including: automated viscometers, an automatic titrator, NIR, GC, differential scanning calorimeter (DSC), and the usual balances, drying ovens, and glassware
    * Perform repeated chemical tests required for process control, raw material approval, and finished product verification
    * Communicate actively and effectively with process control and other personnel to ensure that they have the information needed to control the manufacturing process.
    * Obtain raw materials and process samples routinely from the plant for analysis
    * Release raw materials as needed
    * Enter data from test results into the computer
    * Maintain analytical instruments in working order and verify their accuracy
    * Comply with the policy, documents, work instructions and procedures of the Quality Group and perform all responsibilities in a safe manner

    On behalf of our client, we are seeking an Analytical Chemist I with a BA or BS in Chemistry and experience with particle size analysis, chemical testing of drug products, and cGMP. This person will collaborate within a fast paced, patient focused, and confidential department.

    Shift: Second shift, currently working 10:00AM-6:30PM (M-F) and will eventually change to a 12:00PM-10:30PM (M-Tr).

    I. Position Overview:
    - The Analytical Chemist position is responsible for providing analytical testing of pharmaceutical materials in support of particle size reduction contract manufacturing operations and contract analytical services.
    - Testing includes (but is not limited to) characterization of drug substance physical properties (particle size analysis, x-ray powder diffraction, surface area analysis etc.) and chemical testing of drug substance and drug product samples (HPLC, GC, Karl Fisher etc.), stability testing, release testing etc.
    - The position requires detail-oriented individuals with strong organizational, communication (oral and written), time management and multi-tasking skills.

    II. Essential Functions:
    - The Analytical Chemist will perform analytical testing of pharmaceutical samples in accordance with customer methods, particle size reduction procedures/policies and cGMPs.
    - Rigorous documentation of all testing activities is required, including the maintenance of laboratory notebooks, preparation of detailed laboratory reports, investigation reports etc.
    - The Analytical Chemist will also be responsible for technical review of peer data.
    - The position also entails day-to-day activities associated with maintenance of laboratory functions (instrument calibration/maintenance, glassware cleaning, waste removal, supply inventory/ordering, sample tracking etc.)

    This is a non-exempt position. This position is responsible for the production of high quality medical devices within a manufacturing cell. Working under close supervision, may perform a combination of assembly, repair, and test operations on pacemakers, implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs), leads, and related medical device assemblies.
