Job Description

Finance and accounting team reports to the VP, Data Center Finance. The team works within the IMDC business unit as a financial hub between leadership and business teams, the enterprise team, the core businesses, and financial shared service functions. The team partners to cover finance related responsibilities, from defining and driving budgeting, forecasting and performance management, monthly accounting and financial reporting, ad-hoc analyses and modeling, providing capital and business case support, and managing financial controls.



The Billing and Revenue Accountant will be primarily responsible for reviewing customer contracts for proper revenue recognition in compliance with GAAP and the Company's revenue recognition guidelines, including setup, maintenance and billing in the Contract Management System. The Billing and Revenue Accountant is also responsible for supporting the Sr. Accounting Manager in the completion of their responsibilities throughout the monthly close through the performance of regular close responsibilities, including but not limited to preparing certain account reconciliations and journal entries.



Responsibilities:



Review and summarize customer contracts for proper revenue recognition in accordance with company policy and revenue recognition accounting standards.

Coordinate with Legal department to interpret complex or unique provisions included in leases and service agreements

Review customer contracts for billing and revenue recognition in the Contract Management System (CMS)

Research billing issues through reference to sales documentation; provide daily support to internal and external customers.

Support accounts receivable group on the collection of open invoices, helping resolve open questions and issues.

Prepare, maintain and distribute billing reports as required.

Assist with specialized billing arrangements and processes that require escalated attention and intervention.

Maintain consistent, prompt, and accurate service levels to promote Total Customer Satisfaction (TCS).

Miscellaneous billing projects/responsibilities as assigned by management.

Bachelor's degree with equivalent work experience

One to five years of experience in related revenue/billing operational positions

Prior experience working and excelling in multi-location, business-services organization is preferred

Experience with enterprise-wide applications, accounting, reporting, and billing systems (such as Sales Force and Oracle), is required and experience with multinational companies and a shared accounting service center is a definite plus.

Experience with Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.

Experience with start-up and high growth businesses is highly valued in addition to experience with real estate/data centers.
