Job Description

Manpower is seeking a Activities Assistant for a direct hire role in Washington, DC. Candidates with Activity Assistant-Certified (AAC), Certified Nursing Assistant (CAN), Senior Fitness Specialist (SFS) are strongly encouraged to apply.

GENERAL SUMMARY: The Activities Assistant is responsible for assisting with the day to day delivery of resident-centered activities and programs while meeting and/or exceeding quality standards.

Under the supervision and direction of the Activities and Volunteer Coordinator, the Activities Assistant will assist in the development and leading of the community's engaging resident-centered activities and volunteer programs and services for the community.


Activities Program

1. Assists in maintaining a balanced resident centered activity program for the community following the Activity Program Guidelines, Programming Guides(s), and direction from immediate supervisor.

2. Assists in preparing the activity calendar and newsletter with the coordination of the immediate supervisor.

3. Conducts and/or assists with planned resident activities, programs, and services throughout the community.

4. Assists, invites, and encourages residents to participate in activities.

5. Assists residents to and from the activity areas when necessary.

6. Records and documents resident participation according to quality service standards, federal, state, and local laws and regulations.

7. Maintains activity areas in an orderly manner.

8. Assists in maintaining an inventory of activity and programming supplies, games, programs, and craft services.

9. Assists with the network contacts and relationships and provides assistance in arranging for speakers from community groups/organizations to provide educational, social, and engaging activities and support for the residents.

10. As applicable, responsible for a daily care of any animals and/or plants within the activities program and services.
