The Helmets Operator I is responsible for following procedures for product assembly/fabrication, equipment operation and safety requirements as documented in the company's quality system.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
* Assembling products, handling products, equipment and materials per the Production Department and company's quality system procedures
* Operate Forming, Molding, and other manufacturing equipment to make composite parts in a production environment.
* Perform other production support activities such as cutting and kitting materials, trimming formed & molded parts and kitting and packaging finished parts.
* Contribute to production effort by accomplishing all related tasks as needed under Production Supervisor and Production Manager's directions.
* Work under very specific production volume objectives and goals.
* Perform duties following all applicable safety & quality rules.
* Maintain cleanliness of production area (5s).

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
* High School diploma or GED
* No previous experience required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
* Able to read and interpret assembly instruction
* Ability to acquire job skills and learn company policies and procedures to complete production tasks.
* Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal form.
* Works on basic tasks requiring limited knowledge/comprehension of the function.
* Normally receives detailed instructions on all work. Works under close supervision.
* Ability to master all level I knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Work Environment
Job functions take place in a Manufacturing setting and are subject to environmental conditions involving temperature changes throughout the year which include heat, humidity, and cold. The worker is exposed, but are not limited to elevated noise, vibration, lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 40 pounds. The worker may be exposed to certain atmospheric conditions that involve, but are not limited to dusts, vapors, mists, and odors. Personal Protective Equipment for some or all of the exposures listed above is a requirement to perform this job function.
