Assembly Technician- Melville, NY- $20-22 PER HOUR



Manpower is looking to hire an Assembly Technician to work in Melville, NY. This client is currently responsible for serving the North American power systems and rail transportation with electrical and electronic products, systems and services.

What is the job?

* Perform basic mechanical assembly of TSD components and sub-assemblies according to drawings, bills of materials, procedures, check-sheets, and other work instructions.

* Remove gaskets and installation of new gaskets on covers.

* Use various hand and power tools correctly and safely to assemble wire products, components and sub-assemblies.

* Overhaul HVAC units. Disassemble and vacuum out. Operate wash bay and parts washer, along with staging.

* Apply sealant and adhesive to products.

* Under supervision, assist with refrigerant related tasks such as measuring, charging, and evacuating HVAC units.

* Read and understand technical drawings, mechanical blueprints, electrical schematics, and bills of materials.

* Perform verification of subassemblies and/or assemblies for defects by operating measurement devices and visual checking.



What you Bring?

* High School diploma or GED with 2 two years of work experience, or equivalent education and experience.

* Mechanical ability, as demonstrated by the proper use of hand and power tools.

* Applicable safety/operations training required to operate certain machinery and equipment (e.g., powered industrial truck and crane).

* Ability to read and understand technical drawings, mechanical diagrams, electrical schematics and bills of materials.

* Ability to judge the quality of sub-assemblies and assemblies produced compared to established standards, drawings and instruction.

* Ability to safely and correctly use hand and power tools and measurement devices.

* Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.

* Ability to read, write, and follow instructions.
