Manpower is currently hiring for a Bilingual Short Term Disability Case Manager for a large Insurance company based in Halifax.

1 year contract, with potential for hire or extension

Halifax office - currently work from home with intent to return to office

Must be fluent in English and French



Job Description



This role will be responsible for managing short term disability claims from intake to payment. This function includes key accountabilities that require a strong commitment to quality, and business knowledge. Strong communication skills will help the resource succeed as he/she develop relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. On a typical day, you can expect to accomplish the resolution of short term disability claims, address escalated client concerns, and develop case management plans to either facilitate a Return to Work program or a transition to a long term disability option.



* Setting up new short term disability claims. This function will include contractual interpretation and systems entry

* Making decisions on claims using contractual, medical, functional, and vocational analysis

* Written and verbal communication to clients and stakeholders within the medical community

* Maintain productive relationships with internal team members to maintain service level targets

* Constant prioritization of conflicting demands with tight turnaround times



Qualifications:



* Bilingualism (French and English)

* Familiarity with medical terminology

* Intermediate PC skills - including data entry, MS Word and MS Excel

* Strong customer service experience

* Strong problem-solving and decision making skills

* Analytical skills with a focused attention to detail - particularly with numbers, spelling and grammar

* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively deliver difficult messages to clients

* An ability to work effectively in a team environment

* The skills to multi-task, prioritize, and work in a fast paced environment

* A professional style

* An ability to manage relationships with external and internal clients

* Flexibility to balance conflicting priorities
