Job Description

OVERVIEW

THE POSITION OF COMPUTER NUMERICALLY CONTROLLED (CNC) MACHINE OPERATOR PRODUCES A WIDE VARIETY OF PRODUCTS. THE WORK OF A CNC OPERATOR RESULTS IN A LARGE NUMBER OF PRECISELY CUT PARTS CREATED TO FILL ORDERS. OPERATOR WILL PERFORM ROUTINE, QUALITY INSPECTIONS OF THE PARTS PRODUCED, AND ASCERTAIN CAUSE AND SOLUTION FOR POTENTIAL PROBLEMS. OPERATOR LOADS MACHINE WITH PARTS TO BE CUT AND UNLOADS FINISHED PARTS. USE DAILY SCHEDULE AND JOB ROUTER TO LOCATE CORRECT MATERIAL FOR THE MACHINES OPERATION.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS

2. LOAD PARTS INTO MACHINE

3. MONITOR MACHINE PROGRESS

4. REMOVE PARTS AND INSPECT

5. MOVE FINISHED PARTS TO STAGING AREA

6. CLEAN, PREP AND PACK OUT PARTS

7. RECOGNIZE PROBLEMS TO INCLUDE PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE

TASKS

8. FOLLOW DETAILED INSTRUCTIONS, PROCESSES AND PROCEDURES. USE WORK INSTRUCTIONS, TEMPLATES AND READING MEASUREMENTS.

9. REMOVE PARTS AND INSPECT THEM USING JIGS, TEMPLATES OR MEASUREMENT TO VERIFY THEY MEET ALL SPECIFICATIONS.

10. PLACE FINISHED PARTS IN TUBS, BOXES AND MOVE TO STAGING AREA FOR NEXT DEPARTMENT.

11. FOLLOW MANUFACTURING INSTRUCTIONS WHILE ADHERING TO COMPANY POLICIES FOR PREVENTION AND MAINTENANCE ON CNC MACHINES.

12. USE A VARIETY OF HAND AND POWER TOOLS, FIXTURES, WORK INSTRUCTION, TEST EQUIPMENT AND READING MEASUREMENT.
