Manpower is recruiting for an experienced construction supervisor or a foreman for a permanent role in Winnipeg.
The Foreman would be a professional who supervises and offers direction to people working on a construction site, as well as performing the physical labour that is necessary when needed. Their main responsibility is ensuring that the construction work is completed safely, on time and on budget. Effective construction supervision requires a wide variety of skills, such as people skills (communication, teamwork, conflict resolution, coaching), technical skills (planning, meetings, and delegation), and management skills (human resources and authentic leadership).

What's the job?
Champion and maintain a safe and secure and healthy work environment by adhering to and enforcing safety legislation and company policies
Lead, organize, direct and control activities and people on the job site
Work with Project Managers on the construction site in order to determine the working priorities
Prepare and follow schedules and assign work to construction personnel
Prepare/review reports and forecasts, including summary of construction progress, job labour forecasts
Manage and develop labour force, including assessment of individual competencies, understanding employment standards, building a respectful workplace, managing the progressive discipline process, and conflict resolution
Responsible for upkeep, repair and inventory of equipment, vehicles, tools, materials on the jobsite
Understand and interpret plans, drawings and specifications
Regularly works in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust
Work at high elevations (scaffold, swing stages) and in confined spaces
What do you bring?
3 or more years of experience as a Foreman or Construction Supervisor in any related trade
Experience in commercial/industrial concrete restoration projects is an asset
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent preferred
Ability to read and understand blueprints, specifications, and construction documents is a must
Understanding of concrete restoration techniques and experience in the concrete restoration industry is preferred
Knowledge of appropriate materials, methods, and the tools required in various construction processes
Work for extended hours and available for work 7 days a week as required
A Valid Driver s license is required
