1035 Exchange Analyst Job Description:


Analyzes and coordinates the handling of 1035 Life applications including Life and Term Conversions. The analysis consists of ensuring and reviewing appropriate requirements in compliance with the 1035 exchange tax codes. Adheres to timely processing of proceeds. Researches and implements solutions to resolve any service or processing concerns. Updates the company insurance data-base with cost basis for 1035 exchanges and is accountable for any necessary policy corrections related to the 1035 exchange, including interest charge adjustments.

Customer Focus/Communication:

Handles communication through various venues such as Linkgrams, email, telephone, and written. The analyst serves as the primary contact to the field and internal customers; answering questions regarding the 1035 exchange process. Written communication can include the use of emails to internal and external customers, Linkgrams to the field customers, and letters written to the replaced insurance company.

Miscellaneous/Team Responsibilities:

Responsible to assist in updating training materials and may serve as a training facilitator as needed for new staff. Engages with the team and department by participating in events initiated through leadership. Is also responsible to support the 1035 exchange team members by sharing job knowledge through the use of case studies and participating in decisions that impact the workflow/procedures of the team. Held accountable for providing back-up to other team members which entails work redistribution, work flow or case related concerns

Insurance background is a plus.
