Job Description

Our client, in Morgantown is seeking a reliable candidate to join their team. As a Human Resource Specialist, you will be part of the HR team. The ideal candidate will have good computer skills, effective oral and written communication skills and attention to detail, which will align successfully in the organization. Experience with insurance benefits would be preferred but not required.


Job Title: Human Resource Specialist

Location: Morgantown, WV 

Pay Range: $17 hr starting


What’s the Job?

  • Preparing or updating employment records related to hiring, transferring, promoting, and terminating. Analyze discrepancy on reports.
  • Ensuring new hire paperwork is complet and processed. Explaining human resources policies, procedures, and standards to new and existing employees.
  • Coordinates health, dental, vision, 401K, and life insurance enrollments and communicates with service providers concerning routine administration of programs. Conducts audits of benefits and recommends corrective action.
  • Processing incident reports and evaluate if a workers compensation claim needs to be filed. Report work-related injuries to the workers’ comp carrier. Work with the workers’ comp representative about compensation of wage benefits, returning to work, light duty options, and medical appointments.
  • Effectively communicate as evidenced by conveying necessary information accurately and asking questions when clarification is needed. Assist with agency audits when documents need to be gathered and faxed or emailed to the appropriate office.


What’s Needed?

  • Have a HS diploma or equivalent, with some college or technical course work, preferably in human resource department; or any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Be able to function independently and be flexible with changes.
  • Be able to interact communicate/cooperate with agency staff, cooperating agencies and the general public.
  • Communicate (actions/verbally/in writing) in a manner which demonstrates respect
  • Must be able to clear a drug screen and background check.
