Job Description

JOB SUMMARY



This position is accountable for welding and fabricating components according to work specifications to cost-effectively produce a high-quality product in a safe manner, on a timely basis that meets customer requirements.



PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Weld all pressure vessels in accordance with ASME Code requirements and all units with radiography as part of the customer specifications.

* Lay out and weld to specification all products; code or non-code, standard or non-standard.

* Produce a quality product that meets customer and design specifications while minimizing scrap and rework costs.

* Learn, know and adhere to the Inspection Documentation requirements including applicable traceability and tracking logs.

* Support other team members with their duties to ensure the smooth operation of the department in support of team and divisional goals.

* Monitor inventory levels and locations, and work with support staff to ensure the availability of inventory needed to produce goods on schedule and according to customer requirements.

* Adhere to processes and procedures on a continual basis to ensure departmental goals are being met related to efficiencies, equipment utilization and time usage in order to maintain or improve cost competitiveness.

* Provide quality in all goods and services delivered to internal and external customers through thorough planning, responsible implementation on provided schedule, and continuous improvement.

* Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that is professional, upholds the mission, vision and values, and interfaces well with customers, clients, co-workers and leadership members.

* Complete all required training, including safety training, quality training and procedural training.

* Work to and/or help create standard work procedure (SOP).





KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES



* Capacity to communicate effectively in English including written and verbal communication methods.

* Aptitude to read and interpret blueprints, process routings, bills of materials, operations manuals and procedures.

* Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

* Ability to accurately complete tracking logs and required paperwork associated with production and quality processes.

* Shop math skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

* Ability to safely move materials throughout the production floor. This includes the ability to safely operate a crane and forklift.

* Capability of operating pneumatic tools.

* Ability to work overtime including weekends, and alter hours as business needs dictate.

* Strong mechanical aptitude.

* Basic computer skills.

* Capable of identifying area hazards and follow safety requirements to mitigate the risk associated.



EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE



Required:

* High School Diploma or equivalent required

* Minimum of 3 years related fitting and fabrication welding experience and/or technical school ; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

* Minimum of 2 years of TIG and MIG welding experience or equivalent expertise.

* Must be able to pass TIG and "flux-core" welding procedures per ASME code standards and obtain ASME welding certification.



Preferred

* Minimum of 6 months prior experience with thin-wall TIG welding and fabrication.
