What is the job?
* Operate lifting devices, e.g. counterbalance electric forklifts, battery hoists, and electric pallet lifters in a safe manner and per company procedures
* Use of hand-held scanners to identify product for shipments
* Manually load and unload materials from pallets, skids, and lifting devices for line supply stock in Production areas
* Support inventory control with accurate documentation
* Provide production data on tags or labels
* Prepare shipping/receiving dock to accept incoming product as needed
* Match product with purchase orders and verify shipping products' codes
* Process all required paperwork and maintain adequate records for reporting and tracking of product
* Ensure the secure and accurate loading and unloading of shipments
* Verify receipts of shipments as required
* Verify product conforming stamp on finished carts prior to moving to staging/shipping area
* Ensure shipments contain proper documentation
* Sort and distribute incoming shipments
* Maintain organized work area according to policies, procedures and work instructions as well as internal ISO management systems
* Inspect, document and submit daily forklift and other lifting devices to be used checklists and report any maintenance requirements, malfunctions or deficiencies immediately to Team Leader a/o Maintenance Technician, Coordinator or Manager
* Operate lift truck safely and following all internal and Corporate PIT (Powered Industrial Truck) Program
What do you bring to the job?
* Minimum 3 years' experience as a forklift operator in a similar work environment (stacking glass pallets, or pin to pin)
* Valid Forklift Safety Training certificate
* Strong attention to detail
* Computer abilities with Microsoft Office products as well as internal systems applicable to Material Handling Shipping and Receiving
* Professional appearance and manners
* Transportation of Dangerous Goods training or experience
* Valid G license (not under suspension)
Work Conditions
* Scheduled shift work required (Rotational)
* Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
* Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals
* Overtime as required
* Job is indoor environment in heated and air conditioned environment, but may be exposed to outside environment minimally, and colder or hotter climate trailers for unloading/loading on forklift
* Material Handling Department responsible for Shipping, Receiving and Line Supply job duties
