Job Description

Manpower is currently seeking an HR Business Partner for a permanent position for our renowned client located in Edmonton, AB.

Location: Sherwood Park

Schedule: Monday - Friday, full time

Permanent position, benefits available


Under the supervision of the HR Director, the HR Business Partner will partner with operational leadership to provide timely and professional Human Resources support to their client groups, while ensuring the appropriate governing legislation is adhered to. The HR Business Partner will also be a part in the development and maintenance of Human Resources programs, policies, and procedures in accordance with the organizations objectives.

The role entails:

* Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with all employees.

* Participate and support in the planning and preparation collective bargaining.

* Interpret collective agreements providing guidance and instruction to Managers, Supervisors and employees on policies, programs and systems as required.

* Actively participate in HR audits, employee opinion surveys, focus groups and have a hands-on approach in the completion of subsequent action plans.

* Participate in the development and implementation of new programs, policies and procedures.

* Employee Relations including coaching and counselling, conduct investigations and disciplinary actions as required.

* Manage relationships and recruitment with temporary agencies.

* Prepare, maintain and update employee databases (e.g. training, employee lists) and various related weekly/monthly/quarterly reports.

* Assist with the preparation, coordination and delivery of New Hire Orientation and various training programs to all employees and various levels within the organization as required.

The ideal candidate:

* Post-secondary education in Human Resources Management required, working towards obtaining the CHRP designation preferred.

* Minimum 5-years' experience in Human Resources

* Union/Labour relations experience required.

* Strong understanding of Canadian employment legislation.

* Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.

* Proficiency with MS Office applications.
