Job Description

This is a highly visible position that will serve as an instrumental member within our client's engineering department and will be a key contributor within several new product development launches and continuous improvement initiatives. Day in the Life:



Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for designing, monitoring, and improving manufacturing processes. The role extends to supporting production processes with work instructions/standard operating procedures (SOPs), staff training, equipment management, and root cause analysis of issues. The successful candidate will have strong analytical and communication skills, knowledge of standard problem-solving tools, and a persistent commitment to driving continuous improvement. This position requires a hands-on approach and supports cross functional activities within the entire organization including but not limited to: Product Development, Production, Quality, and Logistics.



Primary Responsibilities:



* Develop and implement improved manufacturing processes, analyzing production processes and identifying opportunities to improve product quality and efficiency

* Establish programs to educate production employees in equipment, processes, and process control procedures

* Increase line output by tracking production rates, implementing visual dashboards, and minimizing down time

* Manage production equipment, including identifying equipment needs, implementing maintenance schedules, and ensuring safe use

* Participate in the product development process to optimize for manufacturability, and aid in transfer of new product from R&D to manufacturing

* Support Quality with root cause analysis to solve process issues, increase equipment reliability and process capability, and improve product quality. Implement corrective actions for issues

* Establish and maintain production Visual Work Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures

* Establish and maintain charting schemes, statistical analysis of processes, and production feasibility studies



Requirements and Desired Qualifications:



* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, preferably in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Process Engineering

* Minimum of 3 years of Manufacturing/Process Engineering related experience is required

* Demonstrated continuous improvement project experience as a leader and facilitator

* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

* Strong attention to detail

* Proficient in Microsoft Office programs

* Problem solving experience or training (8D, Six Sigma, DOE, SPC)

* Fluency in frameworks such as DMAIC and FMEA

* Lean manufacturing experience (Visual management, 5S, PDCA)

* Continuous Improvement experience in a manufacturing environment

* Experience in an ISO/regulated controlled environment preferred, but not required
