Job Description

Our team is currently searching for a Manufacturing Engineer - WELD to join our client in Benson, MN. In this role, you will be responsible for improving manufacturing efficiency, cost, product quality, and worker safety by analyzing current methods, new methods, new technologies and cost reduction activities in selected areas.

Additional responsibilities include:

* Develops, designs and plans equipment and machine layouts, workflow, and safety precautions to maximize utilization of plant and manufacturing facilities.

* Evaluates worker productivity and recommends improvements to increase manpower efficiency and operating performance, reduce waste and delays, and promote cost control/reductions.

* Develops metrics to measure plant and equipment capacity output, as well as identify equipment and process flow bottlenecks.

* Establishes welding procedures to guide production and welding personnel to meet intended part specification.

* Directs, coordinates and performs inspections to ensure workers' compliance with established welding procedures, restrictions, and standards; in testing welds for conformance with national code requirements; or testing welding personnel for certification.

* Conducts research and development investigations to develop and test new fabrication processes and procedures, improve existing or develop new welding equipment, develop new or modify current welding methods, techniques, and procedures.

* Reviews and approves new weldment designs and supplies feedback to Product Engineering regarding production feasibility and capability. Supplies DFMA and VA/VE input to Product Engineering of new and existing product.

* Other related duties as assigned.

* This position pays 67,000 to 75,000

The qualified candidate will have:

* A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Weld, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering or an Associate's degree in a technical discipline plus 3 or more years of Weld Engineering experience

* Welding Engineer and/or Inspector Certification through American Welding Society (AWS) or similar

The ideal candidate will have:

* Working knowledge of AWS D1.1 Structural Welding Code

* Experience with robotic welding is preferred.

* Self-motivating and pro-active personality; ability to work under minimum general supervision

* Strong verbal and written communication skills.

* Strong problem-solving skills and innovation techniques.

* Ability to organize and prioritize several projects and maintain schedules to meet deadlines.

* Strong analytical skills; attention to detail and documentation.

* Robotic weld application and programming experience
