Job Description
Manpower Engineering looking for a Mechanical Engineer for our client south of the Louisville area. Direct/perm hire.
Specific Responsibilities:
* Researches, designs, evaluates, installs, operates, and maintains mechanical products, equipment, systems and processes to meet requirements, applying knowledge of engineering principles.
* Designs and implements cost-effective machine and/or equipment modifications to improve safety, reliability and throughput; develops design ideas using CAD software (AutoCAD 3D).
* Works out the loads and stresses on different parts of a structure, and uses computer simulations to predict how structures will react under different conditions.
* Develops, tests, and evaluates theoretical designs.
* Creates detailed drawings for fabrication and assembly of components.
* Communicates with vendors to obtain quotations for purchasing components; inspects components upon arrival to ensure quality control.
* Recommends design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions.
* Works with state and federal agencies to ensure compliance with EPA and OSHA regulations with regards to equipment installations and/or other facility processes; ensures a product can be made again reliably and will perform consistently in specified operating environments.
* Plans and designs new productions processes; produces details of specifications and outline designs.
* Designs test control apparatus and equipment and develops procedures for testing products.
* Works with state and federal agencies to ensure compliance with EPA and OSHA regulations with regards to equipment installations and/or other facility processes; ensures projects meet legal requirements, environmental directives, and health and safety requirements.
* Maintains an awareness of external product and process technology, including those of competitors, through external networks (i.e., academia, suppliers, customers, research institutes, etc.), literature study, technical meetings, and conferences; incorporates this information into the development of new products.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred with 3-5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment. Will consider recent or new graduates with some relevant experience/internships.
* Excellent math and science skills, especially those related to physics and geometry.
* Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think analytically.
* Strong understanding of CAD system operation: 2D and 3D experience to create detailed fabrication and assembly drawings.
* Comprehensive understanding of required health and safety regulations.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
* Attention to detail.
* Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills; ability to interact with all levels within the organization.
* Excellent organizational skills; must be able to manage tasks and projects with minimal guidance.
* Possesses the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
