Responsibilities





* The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for maintaining the safe operation and reliability of the refinery equipment by applying standard engineering principles, theories, concepts, and techniques in providing solutions to a variety of fixed and rotating equipment problems that develop during operation, maintenance repair and/or turnarounds, as well as performing root cause failure analysis in order to make recommendations for equipment that will eliminate the causes for equipment unreliability



* Provide technical support to maintenance & operations to increase equipment availability and reduce maintenance costs





Job description



Job Responsibilities: The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for maintaining the safe operation and reliability of the refinery equipment by applying standard engineering principles, theories, concepts, and techniques in providing solutions to a variety of fixed and rotating equipment problems that develop during operation, maintenance repair and/or turnarounds, as well as performing root cause failure analysis in order to make recommendations for equipment that will eliminate the causes for equipment unreliability.



Additional duties include:



* Provide technical support to maintenance & operations to increase equipment availability and reduce maintenance costs

* Apply standard engineering principles, theories, concepts, troubleshooting, scope development and other techniques to provide solutions to a variety of fixed or rotating equipment problems

* Participate in Hazard and Operability studies and work to resolve engineering action items



Minimum Qualifications:

* B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering

* Refinery/Petrochemical process plant engineering experience providing technical support for piping, fixed or rotating equipment, preferred. Knowledge of planned Turnarounds, outages, and capital projects.
