Job Description
Successful candidate will work in the site technical department and will interface with R&D, Finance, Operations, Projects and Commercial teams to drive site projects engineering work from conceptual design to commissioning at the Mount Vernon site.
Job Purpose & Responsibilities
* Project lead for front-end development of projects per the Capital Expenditure Work Process.
* Prepares Authorization For Expenditure (AFE) package for Capital project budget approval and funding.
* Conduct as needed design review meetings to consolidate and align the technical comments.
* Coordinate input for the Reliability In Design process for project execution.
* Manage assigned project scope, cost, schedule, quality, risk, procurement, communication, and integration.
* Work with Business Planning on project justification and ensure justification of project is calibrated.
* Prepare monthly status reports.
* Conduct project appraisal sessions for closed projects to capture the investment management lessons learned.
* Verify option identification & down select, design basis development and front-end engineering for minor and major capital projects.
* Flexible to respond to unit and capital project support needs as priorities change with specific business needs.
* Assure that all applicable local, national, and international general, engineering, technical, safety, and environmental standards are implemented to project.
* Assist Engineering &Project Management Team during the Front End Engineering Development (FEED) and Engineering, Procurement Construction (EPC) phases of a project.
* Support project Safety Health & Environmental reviews, Value Engineering, and applicable Process Hazard Analysis (PHA).
REQUIREMENTS
* Degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering. Operations experience in a chemical company. Demonstrated ability to effectively interface with Operators, Mechanics, Supervisors, R&D and Management to complete projects and tasks on time and on budget to meet the business objectives.
