Job Description

Entry level plant technicians are hired as members of a work team. Technician work teams are responsible for keeping production flowing, for meeting performance goals and for maintaining the high level of quality that consumers expect from our products.

Technicians do various types of work, including running high-speed molding, bristling and packing equipment, using a Computer-terminal and performing preventive maintenance on equipment.

Technicians are expected to get involved, take charge of situations and confront business-related problems.

In order to perform the work described above in our manufacturing atmosphere, plant technicians:

- use basic hand and power tools

- lift up to 50 pounds floor to chest level

- climb, stand, and move around on stairs, ladders and platforms

- twist, turn and bend

- stand and walk on concrete floors for an extended period of time.

Further, technicians have and are able to display skills in manufacturing processes, including operating, maintaining and cleaning automated equipment; maintaining accurate records and data; strong technical, interpersonal and problem-solving skills; and knowledge of computers. Additionally, the safety of technicians is of great importance to Manpower. Technicians will be required to wear appropriate safety equipment, such as safety shoes, hearing protection, and eye protections, whenever these things are required. They will also need to strictly follow the non-smoking policy inside the facilities: only in specific designated areas outdoors.

The Plant operates 7-days per week. Technicians will work any day of the week, including weekends, as designated by the shift schedules. Additional days could be required to be worked as overtime. Changes in business volume and production requirements can cause the plant to occasionally change the length of work shifts or the rotation schedule. Shift rotations can vary from working a two shift rotating schedule to working three rotating shifts. Technicians must be willing to relocate and work any shift, 36 hours one week and 48 hours the next week.

The operation dynamics also requires that technicians are willing to flow to operate on different lines/areas on a daily basis, under the assumption that they are properly trained, especially in the Safety and Quality areas.

Must have prior heavy machinery and Line Operator background.
