Senior Production Manager - Manufacturing

In this newly created position of Production Manager, you will have full responsibility for the day to day production operations to achieve the company metrics for Safety, Quality, and Schedule Attainment. Provides direction, leadership, and coordinates operations to manufacture a quality product effectively and efficiently. Continually work with support resources to improve processes, workflow, and quality using Lean Manufacturing Methodology.


* Improve the safety culture and eliminate risks to provide a safe work environment

* Utilize best practices across the organization in conjunction with the Health & Safety department to standardize work

* Promote standardized work to improve quality and labor efficiency

* Responsible for the staffing plan to meet production levels, labor efficiency, and budget

* Reviews equipment utilization and makes proposals necessary to support planned or unplanned future growth, and capacity requirement changes

* Lead an environment that supports continuous improvement using Lean Methodology and Principles. Champion events using 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping and other tools of lean manufacturing.

* Collaborate with other departments to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments

* Develop/Mentor front line leadership

* Confer with management and subordinates to resolve worker issues, complaints and/or grievances.

* Maintain operations data to support the KPI's

* Recommend and/or execute personnel actions such as hiring, evaluations, promotions and corrective actions

* Budget preparation and management to meet on a monthly/annual basis

* Balance the workload and flow of multiple departments into one levelized assembly line

* Utilize a visual factory to communicate and identify needs/constraints

Requirements/Desired Qualifications - Critical Competencies for Success:

* High School Diploma plus a minimum of 15 years of operations experience, OR a Bachelor's degree plus a minimum of 10 years of operations experience (preferably in heavy/industrial manufacturing)

* 5+ years' experience in a supervisory or management role

* Demonstrated superior leadership skills establishing a culture of trust internally and externally while ensuring a workforce aligned to corporate goals

* Working knowledge of production and lean manufacturing principles

* Deep knowledge of production management

* Strong decision-making skills and a result driven approach
