Job Description

Production Manager

The Plant Manager/Production Manager is responsible for providing leadership and promoting the corporate values to all employees and customers. Manage and develop a strong team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Must promote safety and quality above all else.

Responsibilities Include:

Safety: Responsible for ensuring that each plant work environment is safe and in compliance with all safety regulations. Responsible for ensuring that safe work practices are in place and adhered to by all plant personnel.

Quality: Responsible for ensuring and improving quality through implementing and following established work methods. Opportunities to revise procedures to new best practices would be coordinated with the corporate Quality Manger and affiliated plant managers.

Plant Profit & Loss: Responsible for meeting budgets and total productivity.

Labor Productivity: Responsible for improving labor productivity (utilization) resulting in improved labor cost. Responsibilities include daily determination of necessary staffing requirements and work assignments.

Material Utilization: Responsible for ensuring that material purchased is properly transformed without generating scrap or waste.

Production Scheduling: Responsible for working with customer service to organize the manufacturing schedule to maximize production efficiencies and meet customer expectations.

Equipment Utilization: Organizing the work flow to ensure maximum optimization of plant and equipment. Identify production / capacity bottlenecks and work with corporate management team to develop and implement a plan to eliminate them.

Maintenance: Responsible for all day-to-day maintenance activities to ensure plant and equipment stays at optional operating status. In connection with corporate personnel responsible for developing and implementing a preventive maintenance program and ensuring that it is followed without exception.

Personnel: Responsible for ensuring that employee disciplinary, hiring and termination practices are being followed without exception.

Training: Responsible for training and developing production associates to better perform their job responsibilities.

Inventory Control: Responsible for ensuring that monthly physical inventory counts are completed accurately and submitted in a timely fashion.

Warehouse Management & Housekeeping: Responsible for ensuring that the plant is maintained in an organized and orderly fashion.

Requirements and Desired Qualifications:

* Must have at least five (5) years of managerial/supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment

* Excellent time management skills with the ability to set strategic goals and objectives and meet deadlines

* Strong leadership skills, including problem-solving, motivating employees, conflict resolution and delegation

* Organizational skills, knowledge of workflow and people skills is a must

* General welding knowledge - ability to read and interpret metal fabrication drawings

* Experience successfully implementing complex change strategies

* Understanding of manufacturing control systems and proficient in Microsoft Office suite

* Proficient in lean manufacturing principles

* Demonstrates continuous improvement mindset

* Experience and ability to create and maintain a positive company culture
