Job Description

Manpower in Calgary has an exciting opportunity for a talented individual to work in a world class team as a purchaser.



This role is for an organized self motivated individual that thrives on excellence who can support and make improvements on our current purchasing processes. The successful candidate will be responsible for but not limited to performing the daily, weekly, monthly and annual purchasing requirements and should have the ability to work collaboratively with the management and support teams to achieve the optimum performance in Quality, Cost, Service and Employee Satisfaction.



This will be an approx 4-6 week contract.



Experience in industrial purchasing and procurement would be an asset and or SCMA certification

This is an ideal position for a hard working individual who is interested in playing an active role in advancing our current purchasing processes, strategies and overall supply chain that support our leading edge products for the oil & gas, semiconductor, medical and compressor industries.



Responsibilities:

* Responsible buying materials, parts, supplies and equipment in a timely and cost effective way while maintaining a high level of quality standards and specifications.

* Administer a Purchase Order tracking system which includes the cancellation, re-scheduling and expediting of current orders.

* Maintain all data in MRP system related to purchasing (ie: supply agreements, pricing, contact info etc)

* Manage vendor relationships and assists in building effective partnerships.

* Source and qualify new/alternative products and vendors to support new and current products.

* Assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of a vendor qualification system.

* Maintain the alignment of all purchasing processes with Clients quality systems.



Qualifications:

* post secondary diploma

* ERP/MRP related experience a must

* Shipping experience considered an asset but not a requirement

* Able to be flexible and multi task

* 3-5 years related experience

* Proficient in Microsoft office tools especially Excel

* Excellent team participation skills and ability to work with people from diversified backgrounds

* Excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills
