What will you be doing?

Operation of the PBX Switchboard. Responsible for accuracy in placing and answering calls, remembering names and locations of Agency personnel and organizational routines. Work may also include keeping simple clerical records and performing incidental receptionist work.

Essential Functions

Answers, screens, and forwards incoming phone calls via the PBX Switchboard.

Receives visitors at the front desk by greeting, welcoming, directing and announcing them appropriately and provides the visitors with routine information as needed.

Places outgoing local and long distance calls as required.

Answers routine non-technical questions and refers other questions to proper person or office.

Receives and records telephones messages accurately.

Receives, opens, date stamps and distributes all incoming mail.

Performs clerical work such as filing, typing and other duties as may be assigned.



What you bring to the table:

High school graduate or equivalent with the ability to read and write English; must have at least one year's experience in operation of a PBX Switchboard or related experience; experience in clerical position; pleasing personality and professional appearance; have an interest in understanding of the Agency's programs and policies; or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
