About the Position



Note: This is an entry level position with opportunity for growth. This position belongs to a bargaining unit with the opportunity to apply for other positions within, after 6 months, and earning up to $28.20 per hour.

* Day shift: 6:50am-2:50pm for training then after 1 month Afternoon - $17.00 + .65 shift premium 2:50pm to 10:50 pm, or Overnight - $17.00 + .85 shift premium 10:50pm to 6:50 am

What is the job?

* Maintain cleanliness of floor surfaces using broom, mop, floor * scrubbers, etc.

* Support plant hygiene by monitoring washrooms, locker rooms, break areas for cleanliness and restocking supplies

* Transfer of recyclables, wood, oil absorbents, general waste, etc. to proper bins, including scrap metal manually or by forklift

* Monitor oil pan levels of machines

* Support preventative maintenance of machines by detailed cleaning, etc.

* Distribute supplies through facility (wipes, printer paper, move furniture, etc.)

* Monitor supply inventory, waste levels in bins, tanks, etc. and advise supervisor when necessary

* Maintain facility tidiness by relocating skids, supplies, etc. and painting, patching, and other upkeep

* Perform preventative maintenance on floor scrubbing equipment

* Assist Maintenance in material and equipment transfers and minor repairs (eg plumbing, small installations, etc.)

* Dilute cleaning supplies as required.

* Other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager.



What do you bring to the job?

* Ability to set up, operate, troubleshoot and clean out small/large floor scrubber

* Ability to remove waste fluid from nutforming machines and transfer to holding tank

* Reasonable oral and written communication with ability to adjust appropriately for Operators and Supervisors

* Able to prioritize safety

* Ability to operate tow motor, floor scrubber, and forklift

* Operate and perform required checks of material handling equipment such as lift trucks

* Ability to operate a scissor lift/aerial platform, Genie Boom/cherry picker an asset
