One of our clients in Barrie currently have an exciting opportunity as Set Up Technician. The successful candidate will work within a team of five people with a focus on safety, quality and continuous improvement.

The pay range is between $26.00 to $32.00 per hour



Responsibilities:

* Preparing/setting up injection molding machines for start-up/shut down

* Monitoring machine and part quality during running conditions to ensure smooth operation

* Collaborate with Quality department to ensure initial product meets output criteria

* Perform mold, tool and material changes as directed

* Encourage and support change and/or improvement by setting the standard in setup time and methods

* Change process as necessary to optimize utilization of machine capabilities to maximize efficiency

* Actively participate in the 5S, SAFE and Continuous Improvement programs

* Continuous participation in all facility waste management and environmentally related programs and training

* Perform other duties as required and/or assigned



Qualifications:

* Minimum of High School diploma or equivalent is required

* 5 + years in a previous manufacturing environment is strongly preferred, plastic experience is an asset

* Experience/exposure working with Injection Molding Machines required

* Current forklift and overhead crane license an asset - Training to be provided as needed

* Knowledge of health and safety practices in a manufacturing environment

* Comfortable in a fast paced in environment

* Must be able to work a 12-hour continental night shift 7:00 pm - 7:15 am (84 hours bi-weekly)

o Week 1 work Monday, Tuesday and Friday (36 hours)

o Week 2 work Saturday, Sunday, Wednesday and Thursday (48 hours)



Working Conditions:

* Manufacturing plant environment requiring varying degrees of physical labour consisting of lifting from light to heavy (up to 85 lbs.)

* Climbing heights more than 10'

* Working in confined spaces

* The use of hand tools

* Considerable amount of sensory attention is required

* Limited control of work pace brings moderate stressors
