Job Description
Sheet Metal Worker
This position will be responsible for fabricating, forming & deburring sheet metal. Set-up & operating complex fabricating machines & equipment will be required. This position will maintain tolerances as specified on blueprints & follow routing sequences. Adheres to safety & quality standards.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Other duties)
- Operates brake presses to bend, cut & manipulate materials into specified shapes*
- Studies & interprets blueprints or plans & takes careful measurements of materials
- Basic understanding of required equipment setups*
- Proficient applicable computer programs & scanning operations
- Proficient in all Operating Procedures for department/cell Proficient understanding of specific tools & measuring equipment
- Knowledge of product packaging procedures & labeling
- Meets productivity expectations* Works from Bill of Materials/Print Shop Paper* Completes Industrial Lift Certification (as needed)
- Exposure to continuous improvement
- Helps resolves production issues* Understands and engages in department metrics*
- Proficient in scrap out procedures
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE - High School diploma or equivalent
- At least 1 year of sheet metal experience. Vocational school education a plus.
- Must have fundamental knowledge of fabricating machine operations & shop practices usually acquired by on-the-job training.
- Requires basic shop math, blueprint reading & the ability to use a wide variety of measuring equipment.
Shifts: 1st: 5am-1:30pm or 2nd: 1:30-10pm (Premium of $1.50/hr on this shift) Wages: $21-31, high end in range would need extensive experience.
