UL Concrete Production Operator - Columbus, TX (78934)



JOB SUMMARY

This position follows established procedures and guidelines to manufacturing the organization's concrete products according to production specifications and schedules; volume, cost, and wastage targets; and quality standards. Operates all relevant machinery, tools, and equipment and undertakes standard and complex production tasks safely and in accordance with instructions. Set up or adjust equipment according to manufacturing specifications. Monitor the quality of output to identify, discard, or re-manufacture faulty products. May coach and mentor less experienced workers to help them use production equipment or resolve problems. Specific functions performed at this level UL injection table operator and UL coating line operator. Position may also collect, and dispose of garbage and production waste according to the organization's waste removal and recycling policies to keep the work area safe and clean.



DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)

* Injection Table Operator is responsible for loading the injection table running the controls for the machine that does the needle injections. This is a critical process which begins EPS blank comes from the AWFT line and then loaded onto the loading end of the Injection machine. Ultralite injection machine operator runs the machine that injects slurry into an EPS blank and finishes the top side of the pad before loading onto conveyor belt.

* Must be able to independently change tables to respective sized skus based on Planner's schedule safely and efficiently

* Ultralite coating line adds slurry to top of the pad using control valve that pours slurry onto pad. Slurry is the rubbed in to ensure proper distribution and hand finally troweled to smooth finish before being conveyed into sand sprayer room.

* Understand and interpret ingredients for mixing batches for UL operations. Read scales and touchscreens for verification of correct mix. Will alert Manager and maintenance when variations happen during batching.

* Perform any duty listed as it refers to UL Concrete Production that is needed.

* May assist forklift operators as needed in UL department to load/unload material. (Must have internal company testing to operate lift)



SKILLS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

* Requires ability to measure ingredients, pad sizes, table heights, etc., to ensure quality product.

* Minimum of 2 or more years of experience in a Concrete Production Operator role, with specific experience as a pad stacker for at least 1 year.

* Overall manufacturing experience of 3-5 years.

* Must have mechanical aptitude, minimal computer knowledge, and previous experience operating complex machinery.

* High school education or GED required. Additional manufacturing experience of 2 years in lieu of education.

* Must be Safety minded and have the ability to learn and take on 5s/Lean concepts and methodologies.



WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is performed in a general manufacturing environment. Seasonal temperatures may be extreme at times including excessive heat or cold. Work area is often dusty and dirty due to the concrete materials required for production.



PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must have ability to use hands and fingers to complete tasks quickly and efficiently. In addition, must have the ability to move freely throughout the facility without physical limitation, and capacity to stand for long periods of time. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., and have the ability to bend, stoop and reach.



1st shift position, 6am-4pm

Pay Rate: $11/hr.
