Job Description

The Warehouse Laborer is responsible for unloading and receiving packed goods, unloading container shipments, picking and packing customers orders, labeling and staging product to customers and distribution warehouses, maintaining warehouses and docks in clean and orderly condition.

Duties and Responsibilities

*Manually loads or unloads packages onto or off of pallets/containers

*Operates forklift to load, unload, transport, and stack material

*Completes monthly, quarterly cycle counts to aid in inventory reconciliation

*Operates stretch wrapper and floor scrubber

*Position forklift under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids and boxes, and secures material or products for transport to designated areas

*Performs routine maintenance on forklift and auxiliary equipment, such as cleaning, recharging batteries or replacing liquefied-gas tank

*Loads and unloads materials to and from designated storage areas, such as racks, or vehicles, such as trucks or ocean containers

*Reads work orders and receives oral instructions to determine work assignment

*Installs protective devices, such as padding or strapping to prevent shifting or damage to items being transported

*Attaches identifying tags or marks information on packages or pallets of product

*Fills out various forms related to product inspection, receiving, storing, staging and shipping

*Performs daily and weekly housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and sanitary environment in the warehouse areas

*Follow company safety rules

*Follows plant and regulatory work and safety rules

*Other tasks as assigned

Required Skills

*Follow written procedures, work instructions, and directions provided by management

*Operate forklifts after receiving Lift Truck Operator training

*Be able to lift 20-30 pounds repetitively and up to 70 pounds

*Attention to detail
