Job Description:

The Welder position performs welding operations. Loads, unloads parts and weldments in a variety of welding fixtures, depending on the production team needs. Reviews blueprints and other schematic drawings to ensure proper weld sizes and lengths are used on weldments. Prepares welding equipment for proper usage and prepares the layout of equipment to perform as needed. Assures that welds conform to quality standards and product specifications. Performs other duties as assigned that support the overall objective of the position.



Qualifications:

Candidate must demonstrate/provide the following skill sets:

* Requires technical knowledge of Gas Metal Arc Welding (MIG) welding.

* A candidate must demonstrate the ability to setup, verify, and operate of welding equipment.

* Requires sufficient welding skill to comply with quality standards and product specifications.

* Requires a basic knowledge of blueprint layouts and symbols. Requires a working knowledge safe work habits.

* Requires skill at resolving work station-related problems affecting equipment, production, or quality.

* Requires sufficient human relations skill to convey information and maintain good working relations with team members.

* Requires a working knowledge of production processes and equipment.

* Requires the ability to perform common welds according to production and workflow requirements.

* Requires the ability to perform standardized layouts of parts prior to welding, to accurately identify weld locations, and perform detailed measurements.

* Requires the ability to pass a weld test administered at company.

* Requires the ability to lift, pull, push, and guide medium weight objects (20-50 pounds) on a continuous basis; heavy weight objects (50-100 pounds) on a recurring basis.

* Familiarity within a manufacturing environment is desired. Understanding of Lean manufacturing is a plus.
