    Heavy Equipment Technician

    With over 60 years of experience in the Alberta marketplace, Manpower specializes in matching great talent with great companies. In tandem with our client, Manpower is seeking Heavy Equipment Technician, to fulfill a permanent position in Fort McMurray.

    This position would either be 14 on/14 off, or 7 on/7 off (must be Fort McMurray resident for 7 on/7 off). Must be able to find own way to worksite. No camp available.

    In this role you will:
    * Perform assemblies, preventative maintenance, repairs and complete overhauls on heavy equipment servicing the mining industries
    * Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized or other testing equipment
    * Make recommendations regarding extent of repairs and suggest methods of improvement
    * Interpret work order and technical manuals
    * Complete job specific reports and paperwork as needed
    * Have a strong awareness and attitude towards workplace health and safety
    * Motivated and able to work in a challenging environment with minimal supervision
    * Work remotely in adverse weather conditions
    * Confined Space work is required
    * Other duties as required

    To be successful in this role, you will have:
    * Must have inter-provincial or equivalent provincial journey tradesperson ticket
    * Must have thorough knowledge of maintenance and repair of mining equipment
    * Ability to use precision measuring tools along with hand and power tools
    * Must be able to do physically demanding work; lift up to 50 lbs
    * Mining experience would be considered an asset
    * Heavy equipment experience would be considered an asset
    * Valid safety tickets
