    Our well established client in Chatham has an opening for Fixed Asset Accounting Analyst for a 6 month contract starting in April.

    In this role you will:
    * Prepare Plant Accounting financial reporting schedules for Union, Westcoast & Spectra Energy financial reporting (monthly, quarterly or annually as necessary).
    * Prepare Plant Accounting account reconciliations monthly.
    * Assist with and review journal entries and other work of the Plant Accounting Specialists.
    * Prepare depreciation expense and rate base forecast information for budget and outlook purposes.
    * Prepare and maintain asset information in support of Union's cost of service studies; respond to requests from Regulatory.
    * Manage the addition and retirement process for mass assets.
    * Review and assist with all 3rd party billing calculations.
    * Ensure proper maintenance of SAP PS system settlements.
    * Responsible for check and review of various files, identifying areas of risk and tying to other schedules as possible. Documenting of proper procedures, to ensure the preparer will be able to reference it in the future.
    * Teaching and Mentoring junior staff in department
    * Prepare detailed forecasts and outlooks of capital asset gross costs, accumulated depreciation and net book values, working predominantly with the Microsoft Office Suite of Products.
    * Other Plant Accounting ad hoc reporting, training, or responding to requests as necessary.

    For this role you bring:
    College diploma and/or University degree in Accounting/Business or equivalent work experience.
    * 5+ years of experience within Accounting/Finance.
    * Accounting designation or working towards a designation preferred.
    * Understanding of accounting transactions, particularly capital vs. operating and maintenance expenses.
    * Ability to dig through complex files to understand the process and requirements in order to recreate the analysis.
    * Ability to handle competing priorities and last minute ad hoc requests
    * Ability to organize work to set priorities and meet deadlines.
    * Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    * Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products with a proficiency in Excel.
    * Ability to work in a team environment.
    * Strong analytical and problem solving ability.
    * Demonstrated interpersonal skills.
    * Must be able to work with minimal supervision.

    Job Description

    * CMM Technician conducts receiving, first piece, in-process, and final manufactured parts inspection in accordance with drawing specifications, including GD&T (Geometric dimensioning and tolerance).
    * Operates various CMM's (Brown & Sharpe, DEA) using mainly PC-DMIS software.
    * Records sample evaluation data and enter it into the database.
    * Determines acceptability of rework by conducting an inspection of parts to determine if the rework has met all drawing requirements.
    * Verifies Operator's measurements and aids in providing the proper inspection tools to the shop floor.


    * Requires a Technical degree or equivalent from a relevant field, and experience as a CMM Inspector/Programmer or CNC Machinist.
    * Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T.
    * Proficient in algebra, geometry and trigonometry.
    * Ability to use a wide range of precision measuring instruments, i.e. comparator, toolmaker microscopes, surface tables, dial indicator gauges, block contour reader, analyzers, vernier micrometers, etc.

    Shipment Coordinator II

    Responsible for the logistics related to processing of customer orders.
    Coordinates with sales staff, dispatchers, customer service representatives, warehouse staff and shipping/receiving.
    Answers inquiries from customers and investigates complaints regarding services and policies.
    Input, update and consolidate ETA/shipping data and send to appropriate business units.
    Analyzes load information from customers in order to determine and verify the appropriate routes, rates, and schedules. Coordinates shipment schedules with vendors.
    Position will receive direction and support.
    This position would typically include senior Logistics Coordinators with extensive prior experience.
    Additional responsibilities include to liaise with Customs/Excise officers and other 3rd party, verify shipping documents for endorsement, prepare cover letter with the endorsed documents and send to 3rd party Trades and Affiliates.
    Familiar with trade regulations.
    Actualize voyages and initiate freight payment/billing by completing voyages online.
    Verifying billing invoices from vendor and reconcile differences in Intercompany Invoicing System (INNET) invoices.
    Follow up with supplying source on credit/debit.
    Troubleshoot system issue in the day-to-day operation.
    Identify dollar savings through transportation optimization. Analyze transportation spend and recommend optimization opportunities.
    Assist in generation of dead stock / slow moving /excessive imported inventory disposal and redeployment plan.
    Able to work with minimal supervision and provide training to junior Logistics Coordinators.

    Summary of Key Responsibilities: (job functions include but are not limited to):
    *Contacting vendors to obtain &/or verify price, part number, source of supply
    *Creating purchase orders against date driven requirement and ensuring all pertinent information is obtained and verified with the vendor and end user.
    *Seeking/recording/updating material source of supply and information within the system to streamline future purchases
    *Resolving discrepancies between purchase orders and vendor invoices
    *Following up on non-conformance of materials and deliveries with end user and/or vendor and identifying trends or patterns
    *Qualifying Contractors for onsite labor prior to Purchase Order creation
    *Participating in the implementation of improvement plans

    Qualifications and Requirements:
    *University graduate with 2 years related experience or Business Diploma with 3 - 5 years' experience, or more than 5 years of directly related experience.
    *Communicate clearly to customers at all levels in the company.
    *Demonstrated customer service skills
    *High level of proficiency in the use of a computer including the Microsoft office suite and SAP. SAP material management or plant maintenance areas considered an asset.
    *Work unsupervised, meet deadlines and identify continuous improvement opportunities
    *Work under pressure of changing priorities.
