Job Description

Our client, a successful manufacturing facility in Hanover, PA has a direct hire opportunity for a Product Engineer. This position will: provide engineering support for the existing portfolio of manufactured products.
Job Summary:
* Manage the change control process (ECN) for part revisions
* Review non-conforming material to determine fitness for use (e.g. MRR, MCN)
* Support company initiatives (e.g. lean manufacturing, 3P, capital equipment projects)
* Lead or participate in formal cross functional team meetings (e.g. design reviews, drawing reviews, problem solving, DFMEA, PFMEA, 3P, 5S, etc.)
* Analyze profit/loss reports to identify value analysis/value engineering (VA/VE)
* Participate in warranty review and identifies opportunities for product improvement
* Follow an engineering design process to improve products
* Identify and coordinate validation testing and requirements
* Generate and/or maintain documentation related to each project (e.g. tolerance analysis, CAD layouts, DFMEA, DVP&R, etc.)
Qualifications:
* Reside within a daily commutable distance to Hanover, PA
* B.S. Mechanical Engineering (OR 10 years of equivalent experience)
* Skilled in the use of MS Office and CAD software (e.g. Creo / ProE)
* Some experience (internship OK) with heavy equipment (trucks, construction equipment, hydraulics, etc.)
* Able to communicate effectively (oral and written) with internal and external personnel
* Able to identify, analyze, and solve problems; to collect, organize, summarize and document engineering information
* Skilled at organizing resources and establishing priorities
A Plus:
* Knowledge of truck steering and suspension systems, hydraulic systems, of manufacturing processes and "lean" methods to improve them, of foundry operations; of materials (especially cast irons and steel), of seal technology and materials
* Ability to lead cross functional teams
