Hydrovac Operator

With over 60 years of experience in the Alberta marketplace, Manpower specializes in matching great talent with great companies. In tandem with our client, a national construction company, Manpower is seeking a Hydrovac Operator, to fulfill a temporary contract in Sherwood Park, AB.

The Hydrovac Operator, under the direction of the Hydrovac Manager, will lead in the successful completion of hydro excavation projects, including but not limited to, utility line exposure, debris removal, slot trenching, and digging and operate company vehicles in a safe manner. This individual will also be responsible for following company policies and procedures for routine maintenance and general housekeeping to ensure that all units are operating properly. All duties of the Hydrovac Operator are to be performed according to company standards and operating procedures.

In this role you will:

* Responsible for the successful completion of hydro excavation projects including: utility line exposure, debris removal, slot trenching and digging, excavation of sensitive underground piping and cables, steam unit operation and pipe and culvert jetting

* Operate Hydrovac trucks and equipment in a safe and professional manner

* Set up and inspect grounding and/or bonding procedures for Hydrovac operation

* Ensure all Hydrovac truck equipment and components are in good working condition at all times

* Perform pre and post trip inspections, follow company policies and procedures for routine maintenance, perform general housekeeping to ensure units are operating properly and report any deficiencies to the manager

* Maintain and use appropriate personal protective equipment

* Complete any other duties as assigned

To be successful in this role, you will have:

* Clean Drivers Abstract

* Valid Driver's Licence

* Ability to pass Criminal Back Check

* Previous labour experience

* Must pass Drug and Alcohol test upon orientation

* High school diploma or GED

* Must be able to work in a confined space; walk, bend, and lift up to 75 pounds

Pre-employment Drug and Alcohol testing and post-accident testing are conditions of employment.
