Lead Mechanical Inspector -

Santa Clara, California, United States (relocation package not included)

Duration: Direct Hire


Lead the work of performing complex inspection tasks using sophisticated measuring tools. Provide technical support to Production and assist the Quality Manager with non-routine tacks to ensure compliance to quality system standards.

Summary of Essential Job Functions:

1. Prioritizing Quality Control activities with the help of the QA Manager and Expediter.

2. Coordinate inspection resources to ensure completion of first article inspections report (FAIR) and capability studies to support validation timelines.

3. Evaluate data and write non-conforming product reports to validate or indicate deviations from standards.

4. Ability to interpret engineering prints, source control drawings, and OEM part specifications.

5. Select articles for test at specified stages in the production process for inspection, and test products for a variety of parameters including dimensions and mechanical features.

6. Records test data, apply statistical process control and writes reports to validate or indicate deviations from standards and specifications.

7. Recommends modification of existing quality or production standards or processes to achieve optimum quality.

8. Conduct Quality Control Inspections in accordance with internal and customer requirements.

9. Must be proficient in the use of most precision hand inspection tools to obtain accurate measurements.

10. Knowledge of alloys and material certifications for product acceptance.


Specialized Skills:

1. Advanced knowledge of GD&T.

2. Knowledge and application of Zeiss Calypso CMM and MS Office Suite

Hiring Guidelines:

1. High School Diploma, with preferred Junior College in related field of study or equivalent.

2. More than 10 years related experience and /or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Work Conditions

Working conditions are normal for a shop manufacturing environment. Working in this environment requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, and hearing protectors.
