What is the job?

Job Summary: The Electronic Assembly Technician performs highly complex electrical and electromechanical assembly tasks using repetitive wiring, soldering and resistance weld operations with minimum supervision. The technician will work, and train with senior technicians and engineers to build battery packs per standard procedures.

Responsibilities:

* Perform highly complex assembly that include wire harness assembly (crimping and soldering wires), and cable assembly (crimping and soldering wires) to an engineering drawing, BOM, manufacturing assembly procedure and traveler.

* Perform repetitive wiring and solder operations, PCB Stuffing, Thru-hole soldering, Surface-mount soldering, and point-to-point wiring

* Candidate must be able to read and work from complex schematics, assembly blueprints, verbal or written instructions, and diagrams; must have the ability to follow provided wiring color code with minimal supervision.

* Must have an electronic assembly experience, strong working knowledge with hand/power tools. Must be familiar with the quality control methods to evaluate the repeatability of assembly processes.

* Collaborate with other departments such as Design and Mechanical Engineers, machining during prototype builds.

* Must be able to work additional hours (including weekends) as necessary to meet the challenges of the position.

* Work with other areas of manufacturing to identify and resolve defects and identify and implement improvements to increase the overall quality of the product.

* Be safety conscious at all times when performing testing or troubleshooting operations.

* Must possess a high level of attention to detail with handling battery packs

* Perform other duties as assigned and needed to meet customer and department expectations.

Qualifications:

* Minimum 2 years of experience in electronic assembly environment with current certificate of J-STD-001F, IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620

* Good technical writing and verbal communication skills required.

* Above average manual dexterity and visual acuity are required in order to perform delicate assembly tasks.

* General computer knowledge and hand tools (voltmeter, drills, heat gun, wire stripper, crimping) is a plus.

* Solder certifications to NASA 8739, and experience with Resistance welding is a plus.

* Experience working with and testing lithium ion batteries a plus

* Demonstrated experience interacting with a variety of individuals in a positive, professional manner.

* Must be self-motivated and organized in order to plan, execute, and document work plus work with a high level of independence
