Job Description

Assembler

With over 60 years of experience in the Alberta marketplace, Manpower specializes in matching great talent with great companies. In tandem with our client, Manpower is seeking Assemblers, to fulfill a temporary contract in Edmonton.

In this role you will:
* Assemble and test mechanical assemblies of moderate complexity, requiring some fitting and adjusting
* Assemble, test, and paint surface components according to specifications
* Master basic skills and some advanced skills in procedures, techniques, tools, materials and /or equipment in area of expertise
* Work under direct supervision and select from a variety of established procedures to accomplish assigned tasks
* Resolve routine questions and problems independently and refer more complex issues to higher levels
* Completes required test documentation including test reports, failed test reports and Non-Conformance Reports
* Uses material handling equipment to move parts, components and subassemblies from one work or storage area to another as required
* Performs all duties in a safe manner and keeps all employees aware of dangers in work area
* Other duties as assigned

To be successful in this role, you will have:
* High school diploma or G.E.D
* Physically fit; able to lift up to 50lbs and perform tasks that require bending, stooping, kneeling, pushing upward, walking and lifting daily
* Technical /vocational / training or related experience
* Two or four years' mechanical experience with at least six months experience in-house in assembly
* Must have mastered at least one key sub-assembly and continue to train on additional components
* Ability to comprehend more complex engineering and weld blueprints and be able to understand written Engineering procedures
* Exposure to hydraulic schematic and Bill of Material (BOM) interpretation
* Must be mechanically inclined and be able to use pneumatic tools, hydraulic pumps and gauges, overhead cranes, jib cranes, forklifts, rigging and hand tools
* Related oilfield products experience preferred
* Knowledge of Edmonton Operating Procedures, START Safety program, Assembly training
