Job Title: Quality Technician
Department: Manufacturing
Reports to: Quality Assurance Engineer
FLSA Status: Hourly

General Overview:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Inspect and test processes and materials to verify conformance of in-process and finished product to specifications
• Complete secondary sign-off of materials and equipment checklist for review and complete process
• Conduct safety audits of current practices and procedures on the production floor
• Assist in implementing new product processes from R&D into production
• Identify and implement opportunities to improve productivity and efficiency through work processes
• Evaluate processes and equipment to ensure equipment is set up properly and functioning accurately
• Analyze data such as worker production schedules, product processing sheets, specifications sheets to verify that the records adhere to quality assurance specifications
• Initiate and report action plan when non-conforming product or process is found
• Contain product and troubleshoot process when non-conforming product or process is found
• Train and test production operators on procedures and quality standards
• Verify the calibration of equipment is set up and completed by due dates
• Track and document the completion of calibration of equipment
• Notify and report the failure of calibration of equipment to be completed by due dates
• Test and validate new materials and supplies before they are used in production
• All other duties as assigned by manager
• Follow safety, quality, and productivity procedures

Working Conditions: Factory environment with exposure to dust, air borne fibers, fumes, dirt, noise, vibrations, chemicals, and solvents. Safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and positive pressure full-face hoods are required while performing certain tasks.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as contracts, ability to write advertising, reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Must have proven exceptional written presentation and verbal communication skills.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic math and algebra.
Ability to apply common sense understanding and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Education Required:
• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Minimum of one to three years manufacturing production experience
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
• Ability to read a ruler, caliper and knowledge of basic math concepts
• Reasoning ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
• Communication skills as it relates to clearly written documents and precise verbal instructions
• Problem solving abilities to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
• Time management skills to prioritize work load to make the best use of time
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to work independently, be self motivated, and use best judgment to make decisions
• Ability to work overtime occasionally as needed
