Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY: The Tournament Technology Technician is responsible for analyzing and resolving computer hardware, software, and network communication problems using diagnostic software and technical trouble-shooting processes. This position is also responsible for internal and external user support in addition to serving as the Information Technology (IT) help desk at USBC for local Tournament operations.



DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Troubleshoot and resolve all manners of OS, application, hardware, and printer error on personal computers and workstations 50 1

Manage user network, email, and mainframe accounts 15 1

Perform PC installs, moves, adds, and changes 10 1

Build and maintain desktop and laptop images 10 2

Monitor, maintain, and schedule backups and reports on assigned servers

QUALIFICATIONS



* 2 years of help desk/desktop experience

* Excellent customer service skills

* Excellent oral and written communication skills

* Must be able to work well in a team environment

* Must be able to juggle and meet multiple priorities and deadlines

* Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends when required

* Expert knowledge of Microsoft Windows 7 required

* Advanced knowledge of networking concepts, and systems (i.e. Active Directory, and Microsoft Exchange) required

* Working knowledge of printer hardware, network cabling, and virtual machines.



PHYSICAL DEMANDS



* Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, hand and power tools, and to handle other computer components

* Lifting and transporting of heavy to moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals

* Flexibility regarding work schedule or location is required (60 % domestic travel). Ability to temporarily relocate to Tournament sites for extended amounts of time in support of local Tournament activities.
