Job Description

Autoliv is the world's largest automotive safety supplier, with sales to all major car manufacturers in the world, they are passionate about their vision of Saving More Lives. We are seeking an experienced & hands-on Production Manager to oversee operations at their Collingwood, plant manufacturer of seatbelt webbing.

Key Responsibilities

* Manages all direct & indirect functions of the mfg area

* Directs safety, & coordinate activities of production depts in processing materials or mfg products through direct or subordinate supervisors

* Reviews production orders tor schedules to ascertain data (type, quantity, product specs, & delivery) to plan operations

* Prepares schedules, coordinates mfg activities to ensure quality standards are met

* Reviews and resolves operational, mfg & maintenance issues, minimizing costs and delays

* Inspects machinery & equip, develops or revises SOP's ensuring worker compliance

* Champion of production policies, executes procedures in partnership with supervisors & all levels of production

Trusted advisor to working unit(s) on tasks, projects, operations

* Ready to actively involve oneself in daily operations only when required to meet schedules or resolve complex/systemic changes

* Ensures work/projects are completed on-time & on-budget, approves spending within budget policies

Knowledge, education and work experience

* Post-secondary degree/diploma in an Industrial/ Mechanical Engineering discipline

* Direct operations management 5-8+ years in a lean mfg environment

* Comprehensive knowledge of 6 Sigma, scheduling, reduction of cycle time, visual metrics, flow & load balancing

* Proven experience managing safety, production efficiency, systems, equipment, delivery, quality & performance

* Adept reporting skills, PC tools (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, ERP, traceability systems)
