Job Description

Under direct supervision performs assigned tasks from detailed instructions, established policies and procedures. Assists others in implementing and monitoring industrial safety programs to ensure personnel and facility safety. Participates with senior safety personnel in monitoring and controlling the organization's safety standards in accordance with OSHA and State codes and regulations. Participates in evaluating new equipment and materials for safety. Assists others in performing surveys and inspections to ensure compliance with the organization's policies, procedures, regulations and standards related to employee safety. Assists with testing and servicing safety equipment and systems. Documents non-compliance or hazardous conditions found and the remedial action taken. May maintain storage areas, consumable supply inventories, and personnel protection equipment. Associate degree in a technical field related to the position and a minimum of 2 years progressive experience; or H.S. diploma with minimum of 5 years progressive experience.

--Prior experience supporting an industrial safety program.
--Experience in performing job observations, area/housekeeping observations, and safety inspections of equipment.

What other skills/experience would be preferable for the candidate to have?
--Experience working in a manufacturing and/or warehouse environment would be a plus. --Previous experience with Job Safety Analysis, OSHA Regulations, Safety Data Sheets, Ergonomics, and Personal Protective Equipment requirements.
--will be required to perform inspections and observations around processing/manufacturing equipment, in a warehouse with forklift traffic, and in offices around the site. There will also be some clerical work required.

Best candidate vs. average candidate?
--Best Candidate will have experience participating in an Industrial Safety program and already will be familiar with completing Job Safety Analysis (JSA) on work tasks, OSHA Regulations, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), Ergonomics, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements. Will have actively performed safety-related inspections and observations in their previous experience.
