    Do you have a desire to promote education, and have a love for children? Manpower has the job for you. We are seeking Full-time and Part-time Teachers for a local church based Preschool. You should demonstrate the ability to manage a classroom, plan and carry out the prescribed curriculum to include Bible based stories and perspectives. Have the ability and desire to build a rapport with parents and work together for the growth of the children. You will also meet the requirements in the class as outlined in the appropriate ITERS or ECERS rating system. Have knowledge of children's physical, emotional and developmental patterns.

    Educational Requirements
    1. Level I and II NCECAC or must enroll within six months of hire date and have nine semester hours in early childhood education or child development not including NCECAC requirement or enroll within six months of hire date.
    2. Must enroll in and complete all courses required by local and state agencies within the allotted time frame mandated by the State of North Carolina or by this child care organization.
    3. Must be willing to continue education classes in the child care field.

    Additional Duties
    Plan the curriculum for class and submit teaching plans to the director/administrators at least one week in advance. Plan should be readily available should a substitute worker need to take over the group.
    Instruct the Assistant Teacher as to what assistance will be need each day. Supervise the Assistant Teacher in carrying out assigned activities.
    Plan with the Administrative Director for Personnel to cover the class responsibilities in Teacher's absence.
    Share responsibilities in the building or on the playground as assigned by the Director/Administrators.
    Have at least two conferences with parents during the year as scheduled on the Preschool & Learning Center calendar. Additional conferences should be scheduled as needed.
    Be sure the room is ready for church programs use on Wednesdays and Fridays.
    Work with the Teaching Assistant to see that the cleaning and disinfecting procedures are carried out and properly documented and the room is clean and straight.
    Keep the attendance record sheet up-to-date and make notations of problems and progress in each child's record folder.
    Attend Staff meetings and In-house training sessions as scheduled by Director/Administrator.
    Participate in quarterly work evaluations by the Director/Administors.
    See that pupil-teacher ratios are met at all times and will have conferences with the Director/Administrators when Staff schedules need to be changed to meet ratio requirements.
    Assume additional responsibilities as requested by the Director or Preschool Learning Center Committee.

    Must be at least 21 years of age
    Able to pass drug test and criminal background

    Kai Ming, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that primarily provides free full-day full-year and full-day part-year Head Start preschool services to eligible children ages 0-5 years old in San Francisco, CA.

    Job: This position functions as a 'floater' in the center supporting classrooms when needed for up to 30 hours per week. The primary role of this position is to support classroom activities, supervision and needs. The secondary role is to ensure quality food service and sanitation in the center.

    Position Type: Part-Time, maximum 30 hours per week. Non-Exempt.

    Essential Duties:

    I. Primary responsibility is to assist the teaching staff, which includes the following duties:
    -Prepare classroom activities and classroom environment
    -Assist with implementation of curriculum as needed
    -Supervise children at all times
    -Help ensure indoor/outdoor safety.
    -Oversee the daily nap routine
    -Communicate with parents at pick-up time when needed
    -Interact with children appropriately
    -Report inappropriate behavior of staff, parents and on-site consultants to the appropriate supervisor.
    -Assists center administration staff as assigned by the site manager (e.g. checks and open doors, answer phones, etc.)
    -Perform other duties as assigned by the teacher or site manager

    II. Secondary role is to assist teachers and/or center aide with kitchen duties as needed. These duties include:
    -Receive food from driver and check delivery against driver sheet
    -Check and record temperature of food and foods served, and reheating as needed
    -Check and record refrigerator/freezer temperatures
    -Prepare meals for each class
    -Clean up and washing dishes
    -Maintain a sanitation log

    Qualifications: Kai Ming is looking for experienced classroom personnel who can attend to the care and education of young children in a high quality setting to foster their school readiness of and establish a foundation for success in school and life.

    -At least 6 months experience working with children 3 to 5 years old; and
    -6 units in Child Development/Early Childhood Education with a California Child Development Assistant permit.
    -Hold a food handler permit.
    -Ability to take initiative, but also to accept direction and seek guidance appropriately.
    -Ability to maintain highest levels of Health, Safety & Supervision of children.

    Other Requirements:
    -Annual Physical exam, immunization records and TB Clearance
    -Criminal Background Clearance
    -Child Abuse Index Clearance
    -Sex Registry Check Clearance
    -Current certification in CPR and First Aid
    -Adherence to the Confidentiality Agreement
