    Junior Research Operating Technician

    Manpower is currently seeking a Junior Research Operating Technician for a long-term contract position our client in the Petrochemical industry in Calgary, AB.

    Please note - this role requires the ability to work rotating 12 hour shifts (6.00am - 6.00pm / 6.00pm - 6.00am) from Monday to Friday.

    Responsibilities:
    * Operating small-scale pilot plant reactor units at target conditions
    * Troubleshooting and instituting corrective actions when necessary, as per experimental operating instructions (EOIs)
    * Monitoring instrumentation for normal behavior, and reacting to anomalies in the process as they occur
    * Performing physical tests on products produced
    * Maintaining and repairing process equipment and instrumentation as required
    * Applying the Facility Change Management (FCM) process and contributing to the preparation of required documentation
    * Assisting with the design, construction and commissioning of subsystems to enhance unit performance
    * Reviewing and revising Standard Operating Procedures, Emergency Procedures, Maintenance Procedures, and associated training documentation
    * Contributing to the continuous improvement of team processes, project plans and the safety of operations
    * Active membership on the Emergency Response Team (ERT)

    Requirements:
    * Post-secondary education in Chemical, Instrumentation, or Mechanical Engineering Technology, Chemistry, 4th Class Power Engineering or equivalent experience
    * Experience with polyethylene operations or a related industry is an asset
    * Strong mechanical/hands-on aptitude
    * Excellent analytical ability
    * Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    * Ability to work effectively in a close team environment and be able to work independently to solve process and technical issues
    * Strong MS Office Suite skills

    Our client, a leading energy corporation, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Engineering Analyst I to join their team. This position is located in North York for a 1 year contract. Please see below for details.

    This role is in the Integrity department and the goal is to ensure the safe and reliable operation of all of the company's gas-carrying assets. The role focuses on risk modelling and assessment, data governance, and software administration for all types of assets in Integrity. This contract position will be dedicated to a multi-year integration project to amalgamate Legacy Union TIMP pipelines into the Pipeline Risk and Integrity Management (PRIM) software.

    What is the job:

    * Conduct detailed checks of converted pipeline dataset to ensure they meet reporting standards and accurately reflect the pipeline specifications
    * Review Engineering drawings, bill of materials, other company records to validate pipeline specifications
    * Review and assess pipeline Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) records and digitize pertinent information using the PRIM software package.
    * Create and manipulate GIS dataset using satellite imagery and basic tools in ESRI ArcMap software package
    * Obtain a technical understanding of Integrity documents and processes to drive improvements to the data supporting Integrity and Risk assessments.

    What we are looking for:

    * Technology diploma or Engineering degree
    * Ability to read and comprehend technical documents, engineering drawings, and as-built construction drawings
    * Technically inclined with ability to understand and solve problems by formulating conclusions based on various data inputs
