Job Description

Manpower is recruiting for a Building Maintenance Tech for an organization located in Lake Forest. We are looking for a candidate that is highly skilled with mechanical abilities.



M-F 8a-4p some evenings or weekends as needed. Location is Lake Forest. Pay $19-$22/hr. Building Maintenance Tech



What's in it for you?

This full-time employee will enhance their skills in building operations, facility maintenance, and event implementation by working under the Building Operations Coordinator. This individual will support the building and event operations by assisting with event operations, vendor coordination, and facility maintenance. The job requires an experienced tradesman with general building maintenance skills, including but not limited to electrical, painting, plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC. The job entails interaction across departments within the organization, as well as with sub-contractors. You may need to work weekends or evenings as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Handle general building and facility maintenance at two locations..

* Familiarize self with all building operating systems.

* Assist with daily HVAC maintenance (e.g. changing filters, small repairs, etc.) and oversight of vendors conducting preventative maintenance and routine service.

* Conduct inspection of entire building once per day to check for any issues, as well as the operating systems, including but not limited to lighting, sanitation system, building temperatures, water/leaks, hydro-therapy room (e.g. hot tub, cold tub, steam room, sauna and swimming pool), etc. Report any items in need of repair to supervisor or take initiative to repair on own.

* Maintain all lighting. Assist with major lighting repairs inside not specific to the field.

* Coordinate maintenance on all exterior lighting fixtures and poles on campus.

* Conduct minor carpentry work, as well as drywall mudding, taping, sanding, and painting.

* Monitor performance of cleaning crew to ensure they are fulfilling contractual obligations.

* Upkeep elevator operation, codes and permits.

* Oversee contractors during project execution.

* Handle miscellaneous tasks, such as replacing ceiling tiles, hanging pictures/cork boards, office modifications.

* Conduct daily checks for life safety issues and report to supervisor.

* Conduct routine checks of event space and office furniture and repair or replace as necessary.

* Operate a fork lift and scissor lift.

* Accept deliveries at loading dock.

* Handle in-house nightly projects that cannot be done during the traditional business hours.



Qualifications :

Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred.



Some computer skills (Microsoft Email, Word, Excel and Internet Explorer) required, as well as data management abilities.



Must be organized, manage multiple projects at times, and excel in ever-changing work environment.



Building and/or stadium and arena experience preferred.



Familiarity with building maintenance procedures.



Ability to lift up to 50lbs.



Able to work non-traditional hours, in non-traditional settings, with flexibility to work weekends and nights.
