HUMAN RESOURCE GENERALIST

SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE

This position reports to the CFO and is responsible for administering the duties of the HR department. This individual is the face of HR department for providing services on behalf of the company and promoting employee well-being.



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

* Thorough knowledge of the HR function including labor laws and payroll practices

* Accurately process payroll based on established pay groups.

* Processes new hires and terminations including: processes and maintains up to date I-9 E-verify records and compiles/keeps personnel records updated. Processes and designates security perimeters for ID/Access badges. Conducts new hire orientation and benefits enrollment. Handles unemployment claims and hearings.

* Manages the open enrollment for medical insurance and 401k, compiles enrollments forms and updates appropriate records as applicable.

* Assists in preparation of information for auditors related to financials, medical, 401k and pension audits.

* Handles and compiles OJI's and worker's compensation claims. Discusses these with the supervisor regarding action to be taken. Files EEO-1 annually; maintains records to conform to EEO regulations.

* Administers FMLA & Short Term Disability Leaves of Absence.

* Responsible for keeping the company compliant with federal, state and local laws pertaining to all personnel matters.

* Maintains vacation and flex day schedule and updates Employee Handbook and Job Descriptions.

* Administers the employee referral program, service awards, petty cash, annual flu shots, gift cards, high school graduates' gifts and hosts company birthday parties.

* Responsible for coordinating all job recruiting and placement of job searches.

* Member of the 401k and Pension committee meetings and is secretary of the committees. Distributes copies of the minutes and current investment statements.

* Other duties as requested by management.

REQUIREMENTS

* Minimum five years in human resources with payroll experience for 200+ employees.

* Proficient knowledge of payroll software and MS programs

* Bilingual - English/Spanish (preferred)
