Job Description

Job Summary:

Repairs and maintains, in accordance with diagrams, sketches, manuals and manufacturer's specifications, machinery and production equipment, conveyor systems, using hand tools, power tools, and measuring and testing instruments. The systems being maintained include electrical, mechanical, HVAC, PLC, pneumatic, structural and refrigeration.



Payrate: $25.93/hour



Shift: Flexible in working hours, able to work overtime on either before or after the shift as needed and on weekends.

*Day shift: 5:30a - 2:00p

*Swing shift: 1:30p - 10:00p

*Grave shift: 9:30p - 6:00a



Essential Functions:

*Maintains and repairs all aspects of production line equipment including cookers, wrappers, conveyors, etc.

*Must be able to work all craft specialties, including electrical, welding, mechanical, refrigeration, pneumatic and structural.

*Repairs or replaces defective parts on equipment. Dismantles machinery in order to access part(s) needing repair replaces/repairs defective parts and reassembles machinery. Lubricates and cleans working mechanisms on production equipment.

*Responds to urgent needs in order to keep the production lines running continually.

*Performs plant inspections on fire systems, storage freezers, refrigeration system, etc., and records information into daily summaries.

*Performs preventative maintenance work on equipment and ensures timely completion of work orders.

*Must be free of identified pathogens spread by infected persons handling food such as Hepatitis A, Samonella typhi, Staphylococcus aureus, etc.

*Must be flexible to work varying hours and shifts, including overtime and weekends, to accommodate the production deadlines.

*Must maintain timely and regular attendance.

*Responsible to report food safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.

*Other duties as assigned



Qualifications

*Must adhere to all plant work, safety, food safety, and GMP standards at all times.

*Consistently meets internal/external customer expectations through teamwork, respect, positive and effective communication, and a willingness to help and support others.

*Must maintain a good working relationship with all other departments and other maintenance shifts.

*Takes initiative to continually improve performance and work process through feedback, risk taking, problem solving and generating new ideas.

*Able to work in temperatures ranging from 125°F to +/- 20°, averaging 85°F.

*Ability to routinely lift up to 50 lbs. frequently.

*Demonstrates high motivation and energy in working with a sense of urgency in critical situations.

*Exceptional written and verbal communication skills within all levels of the organization.

*Ability to successfully manage and execute multiple priorities in a fast pace environment.



Education and Experience Required:

*Minimum of seven (7) years previous experience in electrical controls, hydraulics, pneumatics and ammonia refrigeration, preferably in a food manufacturing environment.

*Refrigeration operators license preferred.

*Highschool diploma or equivalent

*Relevant trade or technical school training preferred.

*Ability to conduct team meetings using effective presentation skills.
