Job Description

Technical Sales Representative

Manpower is currently hiring a Technical Sales Representative to fulfill a full-time ongoing contract position in Calgary, Alberta.

Summary of Key Responsibilities (job functions include but are not limited to):

* Work closely with customers and regional sales team members

* Close and grow sales through existing and potential clients

* Manage and interpret customers' needs and requirements in a fast paced environment

* Communicate sales and service opportunities to the Regional Sales Manager

* Provide technical information to customers

* Maintain current product knowledge

* Prepare quotes and detailed inquiries in a timely fashion

* Prepare responses for RFP (request for proposals) and RFI (request for information)

* Attend and participate in trade shows, conferences and other marketing events

* Project coordination, planning and scheduling of deliveries and provide supervision on jobsites

* Maintain records of sales activity and communication information

* Participate and initiate technical meetings across the territory, targeting engineers, distributors, owners and municipal officials, through presentations, webinars and one on one personal calls

* Understand and comply with corporate guidelines that ensure a safe and healthy work environment

* Demonstrate and explain best practices in installation techniques for company products

* Expand market awareness of our products by communicating features and benefits

Qualifications and Requirements:

* 3-5 years of industry experience or work related experience

* Technical background, CET or equivalent

* Experience in the construction industry would be considered an asset

* Experience in technical sales would be considered an asset

* Excellent written and oral communication skills

* Knowledge of related codes (CSA, AASHTO,ASTM,) standards and specifications

* Strong analytical and problem solving skills

* Self-starter demonstrating the ability to work independently and in team atmosphere

* Excellent customer service skills

* Proficient with using AutoCAD, Sales Force and Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)

* Experience in the HDPE or PVC market would be considered an asset

* Extensive travel across Southwestern Ontario

* Travel to the United States of America may be required

* Role may require overnight stays for several continuous days

* Some heavy lifting is required
