Job Description

Sheet Metal Supervisor
MANPOWER Professional - Onalaska, WI
Oversee the day-to-day operation of multiple-shift, light-gauge sheet metal department employees including giving direction to shift leads, set-up personnel, and machine operators.
Verify tool maintenance being performed as needed, and tooling properly located when not in use. Verify equipment maintenance is being conducted. Perform routine set-up functions on all sheet metal fabricating equipment, including shears, punch presses, brake presses and CNC equipment. Check part conformance to blueprints. Ensure that sheet metal jobs support and synchronize with the heater production schedule.

Develop part programs for CNC equipment using Fabri-Win and Lantek programming software. Drive continuous improvement with metal fabrication processes, material movement and information movement. Initiate whatever action is necessary to comply with OSHA safety, machine guarding and reporting requirements. Attend the daily 7:30AM production meeting. Enforce company policies and procedures and conduct annual performance reviews. Approve time and attendance daily on computer based system. Maintain high standards of plant cleanliness and housekeeping.


Job Requirements:

1. Knowledge of CNC machine controls and ability to set-up and operate machines following all safety instructions.
2. Prior lead or supervisory experience directing multiple-shift operation.
3. Engineering degree is preferred.
4. Programming experience, preferably using Fabri-Win and Lantek software.
5. ERP planning and shop floor execution experience.
6. Ability to distinguish types and gauges of steel.
7. Ability to read blueprints and use all types of measuring equipment (i.e. micrometer, caliper, ring and plug gauges, etc.).
8. Ability to lift parts as required, up to 50 lbs. occasionally and up to 30 lbs. frequently.
9. Experienced in the use of material handling equipment such as floor jacks, fork lifts, etc.
10. Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
11. Ability to use computer and standard software programs.
12. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
